A Global Investment Bank is seeking a Sydney based FIX ⁄ trade order flow, technical specialist to join the trade floor Support team. You will be providing application support to the Global Equity trading desk among other business lines. Sitting in the trading floor you will utilise your previous experience in a similar ⁄ senior role as the main point of contact for the Equities order flow business for IT issues relating to the environment. You will enjoy the pace and variety of a trading environment and pride yourself on providing 1st class support to the business.
OPPORTUNITY DESCRIPTION
- Providing System Support to traders and external clients for Equities Electronic Trading Systems - Cameron FIX Gateway, IRESS, Bloomberg and other proprietary systems
- Responsible for troubleshooting trade flow problems (e.g. tracing lifecycle of order, investigating intra-OMS communication problems)
- Provide Technical Support of Systems (UNIX, Windows)
- Responsible for establishing new FIX (internal ⁄ external) client connections
- Responsible for system integrity, monitoring of systems, making recommendations on improvements ⁄ enhancements
- Creating documented procedures and processes that the team members can follow to ensure consistent service
- Participates and provides for BCP solutions to related areas
- Taking on additional application support areas as requested from time to time
TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED
- 3 - 5 years experience in a similar hybrid technical ⁄ business role
- V-WRAP or Equity Order flow knowledge is ideal with an excellent understanding of FIX Protocol
- UNIX ⁄ WINTEL administration experience is advantageous, as is scripting, database, SQL, ORC, ASX ITS, CLICK, IRESS, FIX ⁄ Client Connectivity, Reuters, Bloomberg etc
- Basic networking and routing knowledge
- Previous application support experience in a trading environment
- Strong business domain knowledge in Equities, Equity Derivatives or general financial markets
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

- Naturally analytical, a problem owner and solver
- Experience in application support and testing, analysis and troubleshooting
- Experience working with business users ⁄ clients ⁄ developers to perform analysis and recommending solutions
- Ability to plan work and keep to a schedule
- Previous supervisory experience
