This is a quantitative analyst role aligned with the power and gas desk within the Commodities business. The candidate will utilise their existing experience to develop models, implement products and support the front office business.

Power/Gas Quantitative Analyst

Core Responsibilities:

  • Quantitative responsibility for the EMEA power and gas business
  • Helping to develop the strategic model agenda for the global power and gas business and in particular owning the London focused development
  • Working with the traders/marketers to develop the product capabilities for the desk
  • Essential skills, experience, and qualifications:
  • Extensive experience in EMEA power, gas, coal, emissions and freight markets
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong analytical, modeling and problem solving abilities
  • Experience in power volatility markets, how to relate yearly, monthly and daily option volatilities
  • Storage pricing
  • Competent programming skills, able to implement solutions with the ability to recognize need for more scalable software engineering solutions when required

Ph.D. or equivalent degree in a technical field from a top-tier school/program: Mathematics, Mathematical Finance, Sciences, Engineering, Computer Science.
