• Assure proper compliance of all relevant FASB pronouncements for all insurance clients
• Provide expertise on accounting regulations specific to Insurance client portfolios
• Act as a technical consultant to the Insurance Product Manager
• Apply “best practice” approach in determining client solutions.
• Keep abreast of insurance industry changes and the related impacts on the firm’s business lines.
• Interface with external and internal clients, senior management, and auditors as required.
• Improve communication and reporting between various areas.
• Act as a consulting resource for WAM’s client service team to address FASB and/or statutory accounting impacts that effect the insurance client base.
Academic requirement: Four year degree in related field.
• 5-8 years of financial services experience with an emphasis on insurance accounting including statutory reporting.
• CPA preferred.
• In depth knowledge of FASB pronouncements and statutory reporting for insurance companies
• Understanding of financial products and the accounting for complex financial instruments.
• Understanding of SEC and FRB regulations and the impact on accounting rules.
• Demonstrated ability to work well in a team oriented environment.
