The client: A major investment bank with a very strong and long established presence in sub-Saharan Africa and other Emerging Markets.
The mandate: To join a fixed income team based in Africa - a region of strategic importance to the firm. To win business from new clients and increase revenues from existing accounts.
The individual:
- Will have a demonstrable track record selling commodity-linked products to corporate and institutional clients.
- Will have a few years experience working in a similar role at a major European / North American bank or securities firm.
- Will be proactive and commercially driven
- French speaking for the Western Africa position
In addition, it would be advantageous:
- If the individual has an appreciation of the cultural nuances involved in doing business in the region.
- If he or she is of a pioneering nature and capable of meeting new challenges head on.
- If they have existing relationships with large corporations that trade in sub-Saharan Africa.
