This company, formerly engaged only in acquisition of nonperforming loan (NPL) portfolios, is now expanding its product offering across Asia into corporate lending products (e.g., Asset Securitization, Acquisition Financing, DIP Facilities, Cash Flow Based Lending) and Private Equity Investment.

One of six major operating divisions of a Fortune 100 company with a presence in over 35 countries and assets of over US2 billion. It is a channel providing financing to corporate clients and offers products such as revolving lines of credit, floorplan finance, equipment leasing of various forms, real estate services, and car fleet management. 

Job Description

1.Underwriting

-Assist and support deal teams in all aspects of the transaction underwriting and approval process, including pre-proposal and proposal presentations/letters, credit committee meetings, structuring and documentation.

-Participate in sales calls and customer negotiations under guidance of deal team leader, as needed.

-Conduct thorough industry research and concise business analysis of companies.

-Prepare financial models to assess risk and determine financial covenants.

2.Account/Portfolio Management

-Responsible for closing logistics, including: reviewing and reconciling funds flow, arranging for transfer of funds, and working with Finance and the funding desk to ensure accurate and timely funding.

-Responsible for monitoring and reporting on assigned accounts and providing advice and recommendations on portfolio management, including compliance with established risk standards, account management logistics and identification of opportunities for cross sales.

-Coordinate data and information flow to generate reports as needed.

Requirements

-A bachelor's degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting or Business with 5 -10 years of relevant experience.

-Highly developed interpersonal skills, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Japanese.

-Possess sound judgment, and have the ability to properly balance business goals with the need to maintain the company’s credit and risk standards.

-Ability to develop strong working relationships with business unit managers while maintaining independence.

-Excellent analytical skills including financial modeling.

-Strong organizational skills and ability to perform multiple tasks within deadline

-Good computer skills e.g. Excel, PowerPoint.

-Strong work ethics and commitment.

-Must be willing to travel extensively

-Experience with distressed assets

-CFA and/or CPA holder
