An experienced legal/compliance professional is sought for the role of Business Lawyer at one of the world’s largest fund managers. The firm provides unparalleled choice when it comes to investments, and offers funds focusing on active, index and asset allocation strategies, as well as services including liability driven investment, currency strategies, cash management, securities lending, hedging strategies, transitions and commodities trading.

The role will include the provision of legal support to the ETF European business in its fund establishment, sales and marketing activities. The candidate will primarily be working as team member within a small team of lawyers who are dedicated to supporting the ETF European business.

Key responsibilities will be to acquire and develop knowledge of legal and regulatory issues concerning the establishment, marketing and sale of the firm's products and services within areas of operation outside the UK. They business lawyer will identify, address and manage legal risk issues arising within the ETF European business and the firm more generally.

The candidate will be expected to work with a high degree of autonomy as part of a high performing team. The learning curve may be steep but the candidate will be expected to engage immediately but with appropriate assistance and supervision as they familiarise themselves with the workload. 

We seek a solicitor qualified in England and Wales or other relevant jurisdictions - if foreign qualified solicitor, conversion to UK solicitor qualification is expected. Solid PQE is required. Experience gained either in-house in financial services & investment products in Europe, or in medium/large private practice in financial services, will hold the candidate in good stead.
