Sr. Collections Risk Analyst

USAA Federal Savings Bank's Collection and Recovery department is in search of a Sr. Collections Risk Sr. Collections Risk Analysts to join the Strategy & Analysis team in the San Antonio, TX office.

The Collections Strategy & Analysis team focuses on applying quantitative methods to support senior management's decision processes. In this role you will be a key problem solver, responsible for assessing and predicting portfolio performance; testing the effectiveness of collection strategies, account treatments, and call campaigns using a predictive dialer; and recommending modifications for improvement. You will produce a concise set of reports to monitor and benchmark operational performance and, by using risk analytic techniques such as segmentation analysis, credit scoring or predictive modeling, and champion-challenger / test-and-control methodology, provide key insights regarding business drivers as well as proposals for continuous improvement.

This position will support both strategic and tactical projects and will be tasked with data gathering, cleansing, and manipulation.

Job Duties:

- Develop, track and evaluate a comprehensive set of metrics to assess effectiveness of collection strategies, call campaigns, account treatments and collectors or collection teams through the production of a concise set of management reports and the use of champion/challenger and test/control methodologies. - Develop, implement, monitor and revise account treatment strategies for credit card, consumer loan, and home equity products. Organizes and defines parameters of assigned projects. - Develops and maintains an understanding of overall business functions with in-depth knowledge of specific areas/functions and related activities. - Partner with predictive dialer management team to develop, track, evaluate and revise predictive dialer call campaigns. - Interpret trends, solve problems, make recommendations to senior management and develop strong working relationships within Collections Operations and Risk Management to influence changes to policies and delinquency management.

Minimum Requirements:

- Associate's degree or equivalent. - 1-3 years of analyst or equivalent experience. - Experience in a wide-variety of systems coordination, process/product review initiatives and the development of management information requirements for related business functions.

Preferred:

- Minimum 2 years of working programs/projects, processes, analysis or relevant business experience with recent bank business operations experience - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office tools - Detail oriented experience with SAS and/or SQL for querying data - Experience creating and maintaining operational reports with wide distribution - Familiarity with capacity planning/ABC reporting.
