BGI is seeking a Strategist for Transition Management who will serve as a general product champion for BGI's transition capability.

This position requires the development of transition strategy for clients along with a sales and marketing focus. The specific responsibilities of this role include successfully launching, differentiating, and expanding BGI's fixed income transition offering with internal and external clients. The fast-paced Transition Management team is responsible for ensuring the risk-controlled and efficient transition of portfolios from one investment manager to another.  BGI approaches transition management with the understanding that every client is unique and each transition demands a unique strategy.

Responsibilities

• Help global channel officers win potential transition opportunities.

• Assist with discovery of client requirements.

• Understand the competitive landscape and buying criteria.

• Create awareness of BGI’s transition offering and fixed income expertise.

• Ensure that creative and ''out of the box'' transition strategies are considered alongside traditional historical business models.

• Offer overviews of our capability, tailored to the client and in light of the competition.

• Oversee the development of customized analysis and planning materials to help ''close'' transition sales.

• Develop competitive and compelling pre-trade bids.

• Oversee the content development of RFPs, questionnaires and finals presentations as needed.

• Ensure that BGI transition clients experience the value that is promised during the sales cycle.

• Successfully transfer primary accountability for implementation of the assignment to the Transition Manager (full briefing of all key data).

• Remain involved in critical communications and issue-resolution situations during the transition implementation phase.

• Work cross-functionally within BGI to ensure world-class transition analysis and reporting.

• Champion marketing studies on transition trading and performance.

• Operate as a Principal with respect to the affiliate brokerage business.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree, MBA preferred, with eight or more years of relevant experience.

• Proven leadership with institutional clients.

• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.

• Excellent written and oral communication.

• A passion for building a business.

• Prior fixed income experience in at least one of the following areas: sales, transition portfolio management, trading or brokerage.
