Our client is the largest hedge fund administrator in the country and they are looking for a Risk Operations Associate to join their team in Toronto, Canada.

Position: Risk Operations Associate for a fast-growing company providing risk reporting to Hedge Funds and institutional Hedge Fund investors. You will be the primary contact with hedge funds and in that capacity will have the following responsibilities:

  • Validation of hedge fund risk reports on a daily/monthly basis, and investigation/resolution of any issues before delivery to the client
  • Complete implementation projects for new risk clients, including working with hedge funds to gather position data, data mapping, report creation and stress test setup.
  • Produce and deliver daily risk reports to existing clients.
  • Perform root cause analysis in terms of risk analytics, historical market data and fund transparency data problems.
  • Providing expert-level support to resolve all client issues while demonstrating expert knowledge of the product when facing users
  • Communication of issues to different firm-wide departments and delegation of certain tasks to junior level risk associates
  • Reconciliation of risk results against internal accounting reports and external data sources.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree
  • Candidate must have a strong understanding of risk management including a thorough understanding of VaR and other bedrock principles of risk measurement
  • Strong knowledge of hedge funds and major asset classes including all major classes of derivatives
  • Computer skills: Strong in Excel, basic query construction, familiarity with a Bloomberg terminal
  • Experience in a client-facing role and good inter-personal skills
  • Strong analytical ability
  • Highly motivated, able to multi-task with a willingness to learn quickly
  • (Preferred) Familiarity with Risk Modeling
