The Division provides debt, mezzanine and equity finance as well as commodity and currency hedging/trading facilities to its customers in the base metal, precious metal and oil and gas sectors globally. These customers are serviced from offices in Perth, Sydney, London, New York, Houston, Calgary, Vancouver and Tokyo.

As a valuable member of the Legal Risk Management team, you will work closely with both the internal risk function and external counsel, involved in the drafting and negotiation of documentation for both domestic and international transactions including cross-border project financing, as well as providing ongoing internal legal and commercial advice to the business.

To succeed in this role, you’ll have

• Relevant banking/finance or insolvency law experience, ideally with exposure to the resources sector. Candidates with project finance experience, will also be highly regarded.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, coupled with the ability to develop strong relationships
• A high level of attention to detail and strong organisational skills
• The ability to work independently and to take responsibility for tasks
• The ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines
• A natural inclination to deliver a high standard of work at all times

This role would suit an Associate (or equivalent) currently working within financial services or in private practice, and looking to consolidate their knowledge in an in-house legal environment
