Our client, a leading global investment bank is recruiting a senior finance professional to join its global project team responsible for the implementation of a new reporting system.

Our client, a leading global investment bank is recruiting a senior finance professional to join its global project team responsible for the implementation of a new reporting system. Reporting to the senior manager in charge of the implementation within Product Control for Asia-Pacific, the successful candidate will ensure group accounting policies/IFRS are fully incorporated into the new system.

Key objectives and responsibilities include:

<LI> Review of accounting scheme to ensure compliance with global accounting policies

<LI> Working closely with IT to develop an accounting rules engine to define the accounting entry generated to the general ledger, in accordance with IFRS

<LI> Working closely with IT to generate an accounting transformation engine that is able to define the details of trading information required for reporting purposes

<LI> Liaising closely with IT/finance to ensure that these engines are able to completely fulfill Hong Kong requirements and in time requirements of the region

<LI> Liaise with global finance and IT teams to ensure compliance with group standards of these engines

<LI> Ensure that these engines cover the accounting standards of all products within the portfolio

<LI> Represent the capital markets area on all testing and set-up of the engines above

<LI> Represent product control in new product committee meetings

The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with a minimum of 8 years financial control experience. You will have strong treasury product exposure and outstanding knowledge of IFRS accounting standards. Some exposure to system design/implementation would be a distinct advantage but is not a requirement.

You will have excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to act as an influential leader and team player. Independent thinking and strong negotiation skills are of paramount importance.
