Senior Quality Assurance Engineer 4050

Job Description:

The candidate will be responsible for testing IDC proprietary fixed income pricing applications.

The candidate must have excellent communication skills as they will be responsible for interviewing end-users and developers to formulate test plans and test cases. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining the test plans and manual cases using HP Quality Centeron on an ongoing basis. The candidate must be capable of transforming manual test cases into functional test scripts with HP Quick Test Professional.
Candidates must be capable of reviewing software applications objectively, work with business analysts and end-users to understand requirements and developers to understand the impact of changes to assist debugging and enhancing IDC applications.
Candidates will be responsible for assisting in ongoing general maintenance, technical support and incremental software upgrades for QA tools including the HP/Mercury Suite and Serena TeamTrack.
The candidate will be required to review functional requirements to asses their impact on the software applications and formulate tests cases.
The candidate must be well versed in Software QA concepts, practices and tools and will rely on their extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
The candidate must be capable of presenting regular progress reports, defect reports and test execution reports.

Qualifications:

· Experience with the HP/Mercury Suite, including QualityCenter and QuickTest Pro is required. Experience with implementing or administering the tools is preferred.
· Experience with SQL and UNIX is required.
· Experience working with DBMSs including Sybase and Oracle is required.
· Experience with using defect tracking tools is required. Experience with implementing or administering the tools is a preferred.
· Experience in the Financial Industry is required while experience with Fixed Income products preferred.
· Strong analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to move easily between varied tasks.
· Eight years of experience in the field of Software Quality Assurance.
