Provide business and data analysis support for BGI Equities and Capital Markets for the investment DB (iDB) to be deployed across all ECM active businesses globally. Work with Portfolio Managers, Developers, Upstream Data Analysts and Product Managers to deliver iDB. In addition, the ideal candidate will facilitate communication with a wide variety of participants and stakeholders and be a complete finisher. The candidate must be familiar with UML and UML modeling tools. Experience with DB design and development in scripting languages is preferred. 
 
Primary Responsibilities
  • Compile functional and non-functional data management specifications with consideration to data model, management, process, business rules, control, ownership and measurement of each function or task.
  • Work with ECM Portfolio Managers and ECM IT Product Managers and Lead Developers and upstream Business Analysts to perform data analysis and data derivative transformations and compile data mapping documentation.
  • Write test plans and test cases for new data feeds/functionality taking into account all inputs and outputs.
  • Compile/enhance business procedures and document new process flows.
  • Facilitate building of quality operational and business requirements

Qualifications

  • 10 years experience in Equities Financial Data preferred
  • Experience with UML, SQL scripting languages such as Perl
  • Likes to work in high-paced environment
  • Change Agent
  • Good knowledge of SQL
  • Experience interacting with Portfolio Managers or Traders
