The position of Section Manager requires conscientious and self-motivated accountants to work with experienced professionals as part of a team providing accounting services to the offshore fund industry.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist with the management and conversion of new and existing client relationships
- Review net asset value calculations
- Vet offering documents and service agreements for hedge funds, mutual funds, unit trusts, partnerships etc.
- Coordinate with internal departments and assist with fund launches including set up of books and records/preparation of first month NAV
- Supervise the preparation of financial statements for funds including audit working papers
- Train and supervise staff ensuring quality and timeliness of delivery
- Assist with preparation of NAVs as and when necessary
- Assist with development of information systems, both accounting and transfer agency
- Responsible for the day-to-day management of a team and for conducting staff appraisals
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
- Recognized professional accounting designation with at least 2 years of hedge fund accounting experience in a supervisory capacity or a university degree with at least 5 years of hedge fund accounting of which most has been gained in a supervisory role
- Significant experience in preparation of financial statements for audit
- In depth knowledge of investments including derivatives, management/performance fee calculations and equalization accounting
- Strong knowledge in structuring hedge funds and preparation of material documents
- Working knowledge of MS Office with extensive experience with Bloomberg and other fund accounting software
- Experience with compliance issues, corporate secretarial and transfer agency services would be an advantage
- Experience with conducting performance appraisals is essential
- Work overtime as necessary to satisfy client deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Willingness to travel as need arises
