Our US Distribution department, located in our Baltimore, MD office is currently seeking a Sales Director to join our team. As a key member of the Institutional Sales team, the Sales Director is tasked with building out new relationships with Pension Consultants, Plan Sponsors, as well as Large Retirement platforms. The successful candidate should be well versed in territory management, cold calling, and every aspect of the sales cycle. Responsible for conducting Sales Meetings, from initial meetings & information sessions to finals presentation. The ideal candidate is responsible for staying current on all Legg Mason products and must be able to clearly communicate about them both verbally & in writing.

Ideal Qualifications and Experience:
 

  • 5-7 years of financial services experience; investment management/sales experience preferred
  • Understanding of financial products, Mutual Funds
  • Experienced in making prospecting/cold calls
  • Bachelor's degree required; CFA and/or advanced degree a plus
  • Strong sales territory management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, and relationship-management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexible, resourceful and proactive
  • Licensed (Series 7)
  • Organized & Accurate
  • Travel around 40%
