Hedge Fund of Funds located in New York City is seeking an Analyst
The research associate will focus on sourcing, researching and monitoring hedge fund managers for the fund's portfolios. Primary research responsibilities will consist of conducting extensive qualitative and quantitative due diligence on hedge funds across the investment universe. The investment universe includes global macro, event driven, emerging markets, multi-strategy, fixed income, sector specialist, volatility arbitrage, distressed, merger arbitrage, equity market neutral, equity long/short strategies. Comprehensive due diligence will include analyzing and assimilating data from prospective hedge fund manager pertaining to the manager(s) background, the organizational history, strategy overview, performance analysis portfolio construction and risk management. The associate will work primarily with the New York team and secondarily with our Zurich-based partner in manager selection and portfolio management. Analysis of Capital Markets The associate will actively gather market intelligence and analyze global markets data as it relates to the invested and prospective managers. He/she will be expected to track and analyze noteworthy events across the capital markets which could impact managers. Maintenance of Portfolio Management Systems: The associate will be involved in the maintenance of the portfolio management systems, ensuring that all relevant information is accurately captured on an ongoing basis.

Qualifications:

•Minimum of 2-4 yrs of total work experience in working in directly applicable fields: hedge fund of funds, hedge fund investment research, investment banking and sell side research •BA/BS, CFA is a plus but not required. •Strong analytical, mathematical and communication skills •Experience using Excel •Strong understanding of hedge fund valuation •Energetic, responsible, self-motivated and honest •Intellectually curious with a passion for the markets •Willingness to travel to meet managers •First hand, personal investment experience is a plus
