The role of the Relationship Manager (RM) is to act as the Single Point of Contact for an assignee/HR or the business in respect of international mobility in that location.

Scope of the role: This role is key in providing management support to HR and Business function, to counsel and assist the expat and providing guidance and advice. This role is also key to ensuring we manage risk, have appropriate sign-off and work within policy and process frameworks. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/CHALLENGES: Relationship Management (Required):

  • Is sought after by business managers and key stakeholders when HR issues arise.
  • Deliver against commitments made to business.

Relationship Management (Excellence):

  • Is the first port of call on people matters with the respective business managers.
  • Long term relationships with key stakeholders across both the relevant business and HR Community.
  • Access to senior business decision makers.

Advice Provision (Required):

  • Provide advice and guidance on all HR operational areas to key segment stakeholders within confined guidelines

Advice Provision (Excellence):

  • Influence business managers to take more effective decisions around people matters during key people processes.
  • Facilitate complex people issues to resolution with business managers.
  • Increased proficiency of line manager to use HR products and tools.

Project Management (Required):

  • To assist the business in identifying the objectives, reasons and measures of success for the assignment and the right candidate. Identify the right policy the expat should be on, and finalize terms and conditions with business.
  • Provide advice, guidance and support to the expat on career management; interpretation of the IM policy and manage expectations on role and compensation.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the IM policy provisions and the reasons behind the policy approach and understanding of the Bank's approach to IM, the assignee lifecycle and key issues.
  • Understand impact of local regulatory changes on the IM policy and advice accordingly; have a strategic view of expat issues in the country in terms of managing internal service providers and external vendors to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Provide in country support for specific problem resolution.
  • Consider exception requests requested by business, ensure complete information is considered and where appropriate escalate for exception approval within the exceptional approval framework.
  • Make recommendations to CoE / Head International Mobility for policy or process changes.
