Exceptional UNIX systems programmers and architects sought to manage systems and network infrastructure for the rapidly growing D. E. Shaw group, a global investment and technology development firm with approximately $35 billion in aggregate capital. Successful hires will be responsible for the architecture and management of our server, network, and cluster environments, including:

• One of the largest Solaris clusters in the world
• High-performance, state-of-the-art global networks
• High-speed, highly-available storage networks
• Sophisticated market data systems
• Automation tools for our large-scale Solaris and Linux environment

Ideal candidates will have a computer science or engineering degree, extensive knowledge of multiple UNIX operating systems, large installation systems administration experience, strong programming and scripting ability, and excellent communication skills.
